We do a lot of family photography in San Marcos and we were so excited when this family reached out to request a session! We’ve been photographing this little buy since he was in his mommy’s belly! We did this family’s maternity photography session, newborn photography session, and now we had the honor of doing their first annual family photography session to capture him now at age 1! He was all smiles and his little personality really shined through in these photos. It was such a joy to see him now at 1 when the last time we photographed him was as a newborn. It goes by fast!
This family decided on our favorite secret location in San Elijo Hills, which is where we live in the southwest corner of San Marcos, CA. This particular trail has amazing light, texture, privacy, and color! We always aim to create an experience that feels fun and low-pressure, especially with little ones. Some of the best photos come from letting families be themselves—laughing, hugging, and just enjoying each other. This session was a perfect example of that, and we loved how the images reflect both personality and togetherness.
You’ll see that dad had a shirt change during the shoot! He realized he had a complimentary checkered shirt and brought it along for the very first dad outfit change we’ve ever had during a family photography session! 🙂
